Ballerina

I keep coming back to the ballerina theme, I can't resist. (I too took ballet classes for years). This is my niece and she is so adorable in her ballet outfits and poses, I keep experimenting with different shots and different effects. It is so fun to see her and my son, cousins 5 months apart, interact when we get together. I call them Marco and Polo from the book about Marco monkey who lives in a warm climate and Polo penguin who is used to the cold. Or my sister calls them city mouse and country mouse.

I wanna be a Supermodel

We've been watching Make me a Supermodel. I enjoy the photoshoots and the challenges it takes to be a good model. It's harder than it looks.
I can't believe my son started watching it with me. He knows Mommy's a photographer and is intrigued by the whole thing (plus I am having to start paying him stickers to pose for me as he would rather be shooting).
So, he's decided the true "model " look is mad, and this is his idea of modeling, to try and do a mad face (this is instead of a cheesy cheese which he picked up from somewhere, not me!).

Fake Paparazzi

I posed as a fake paparazzi for a T mobile event. It was really more acting than a photography, (with photo equipment). It wasn't so bad being crowded, knowing I didn't have to elbow anyone to get the shot. The word paparazzi comes from Fellini's La Dolce Vita, a news photographer named Paparazzo. Fellini knew a boy with that nickname, which means noisy buzzing mosquito.

Toll House cookies w/sprinkles

Making cookies on a Saturday afternoon...Toll House was a real place near where I grew up. My mom taught me how to make them and her mom taught her. It's a good thing the recipe is on the package so one can never loose it! Yuuummmm!!!! We added the sprinkles...

Snow Day

This was the most snow we had all year. Time for a trip to the park after school.
The boys are like little puppies playing in the snow. Running and running, lying down and making snow angels, kicking and touching every snowflake.



Boys love their sticks, and what a find!
After the park someone was too tired to walk home. I looked up and there was a Dunkin Donuts. I said, How would you like some hot chocolate? Add a half a chocolate donut and a disaster was averted!
It was great to warm up and watch the snow out of the big windows! Looks like a few policemen and bus dispatchers were enjoying some hot chocolate too, and happy to get out of the weather.
