We went to an exhibit/booksigning (at CVB Space on w.13th st) with the artist/author teaching kids how to make their own sculpted cats. Here are the supplies waiting for anxious hands to turn them into cats!

The artist herself, Cynthia von Buhler, an amazing illustrater and painter.

Look at all the rooms inside...this was Cynthia's childhood dollhouse her father built her that was then revised for the photoshoots for the illustrations for the book!
There on the front porch is the kitty who wouldn't come inside, Cynthia made a home for him on the porch where she joined HIM!

Michael Feinstein

I spent last friday at Nola Recording Studios shooting Michael Feinstein once again, this time with legendary guitarist Joe Negri, who was known to children across the country for his long-running role as Handyman Negri in Mister Roger's neighborhood.

Nola studios is on 57th street, upstairs from the famous Steinway pianos. Here is the chandelier at Steinway.....

The Greenpoint Terminal Market Fire May 2006

The Greenpoint Terminal Market is down the street from me. When the fire started, we smelled the smoke and heard the fire engines. It was one of the biggest fires in the city ever. When I walked down there to take photos, everything was covered in smoke.

Back in the Recording Studio

Last week I was back at Avatar Studios shooting Jane Monheit and her musicians recording her next CD. The music was amazing. Here are some photos of the instruments they used to create this wonderful sound.

We visited the newest water taxi landing site, in Williamsburg. Haven't taken the water taxi yet, but loved the view, watching the boats, and looking at the bridges.
