Photos from The Stephen Sprouse Book

1984, Steve Sprouse fashion show at the Ritz! E. 11 st in the East Village.

The Padiha Brothers, Roger and Mao did an amazing job on the Steven Sprouse Book. They were kids in LI and heard about this exciting rock and roll fashion show in the east village and were hooked. I was shooting runway at the time and was happy to cover my friend Stephen's show. What a blast it was! The rest is history...

My photos are the runway...yellow on left side

Left page: all black and white inserts (orginally color slide, converted for press kit)
Right page: left inserts color runway
Left page: orange/green runway
Right page: grey runway and coat with yellow interior runway
Right page: silver leather grand finale! (published in Bunte)
Teri Toye, Marc Jacobs and Debbie Harry at the book launch party. (I had to get a shot, even with my point and shoot!)

Miami

I have been so bad at blogging, abandoning my old best friend to my new best friend Facebook. So don't feel rejected, here are a few from my recent trip to Miami to join with my 3 other sisters and their families, extended families, step families...etc for some fun in the sun!

Stephen Sprouse

New book coming out in January. Read the review. I'm mentioned in the same line as Andy Warhol! I have 5 photos, some full page spreads, can't wait to see it!

Southern California Backyard

I found this collage I put together of Polaroid SX-70s and then color xeroxed. I love the dreamy quality of the photos...
To me it defines a little of the environment of pre-teen in southern california, including the black cat walking in the empty swimming pool.

Erev Yom Kippur

I came upon this picture I had floating on my desktop. I made it for my Dad when he was in the hospital to go on the cover of his notebook (my sister Sue says always have your own loose leaf notebook for all the doctors reports, labs, etc, ie keep your own chart!)

Yom Kippur is a day of remembrance and atonement, so here are some photos to remember my Dad, his grandchildren, and his wife Alice, all taken Nov/Dec 2003. I'll have to find a photo of my mom and add that too (she passed away in 92-before the digital age, she would have loved it! She had one of the first IBM PCs, before PC was a household name.

Acme Fish

If you like smoked salmon, Acme Smoked Fish is the place. They supply all sorts of upscale delis in Manhattan and elsewhere. A little known local secret, is that on friday mornings, they sell all sorts of smoked fish 1/2 price at the factory where they smoke it. And I am lucky enough to live around the corner from them.... Yum!
